Reflection on Coursework & Experiences
The purpose of standard two is for school leaders to demonstrate their ability place student learning and success at the forefront of everything they do by creating high expectations and engaging teachers in an effort to close learning gaps. The data-driven decision making project is an excellent representation of my skills and experiences for this standard. The data-driven decision making project was created as a plan to close learning gap in a specific subgroup of students in 3rd grade. The plan includes specific instructional steps for teachers to implement in their classrooms as they work with school leaders to increase student scores on state assessments.

During this project, my leadership skills in student learning and instruction came to life. This was my favorite project throughout the entire program as it allowed me to fully bring my teaching experience and expertise to the table by developing a precise remediation plan for the bottom 25% of students in classroom and applying it to the entire 3rd grade level. Additionally, I feel my skills in this standard have been strengthened as I learned how to properly plan for and implement differentiated instruction to allow all students to meet our school's high expectations. To improve the academic success of an entire student body, not just one class roster, is why I chose to become a school leader.
